Great Car! - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By Great Convertible! - January 19 - 6:56 amBeautiful car. Ive had a lot of cars, mostly imports, from Audis to VW and this is my 3rd Toyota and I think this Solara SLE is the best import Ive had yet. A perfect buy for someone looking for a sporty, yet luxurious, front wheel drive (a must for me for winter) convertible with a non-manual top (what a pain the manuals are!), a large non-claustrophobic cabin with luxurious leather and well appointed and ergonomically designed controls, comfortable back seats and surprisingly large trunk. Good gas mileage at 23 mpg and good power for this v6. I looked at lots of convertibles, Audi TTs Saabs, Volvos, etc. but the Solara was the best for the money and I get compliments galore on it too!

Great Value - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By wedgeman - December 11 - 12:03 amI had a Sebring for 5 years, which I traded for this car, and drove a Mustang convertabe a few times, and this blows them away. You would have to spend 15k more to get a comparable car. It is smooth, quite, and has all the features you would expect. The only draw back is the boot. It is very clumbsy and hard to fit. But the car is quiet, has plenty of room for a rag top, and I would expect Toyota reliability. It was hard to find in my area, and the dealer stood firm on the price but at this point it was worth it. A stylish, solid , and quiet convertable for the price. Looking forward to the spring!

Good performance for a V4 - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By S.C. - September 2 - 5:53 amSo far, I have driven it for 7000+ miles and am still very happy with it. It surprises me how fast and stable a V4 auto can do on the road. The body structure seems much stronger than all other japanese cars that we owned. I dont think I could get a car better than this one at the same price.

A great car for me! - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By clh42980 - August 24 - 10:00 amI just brought home my 05 SE Sport Coupe (V6), I have researched so many cars on edmunds.com before making my selection. I am a eclipse gal (had 4), still have a 00 eclipse gt BUT the inside is so very tiny on it. I was looking for something a bit more spacious, even looked at the Lexus is300, but decided to go with the Solara b/c its front wheel drive. This car is still very stylish like my eclipse, but a bit more upscale. I have so much more room! There is a bad blind spot when changing lanes in the 00eclipses, but I can see clearly in the solara! Also, the inside is not cramped. I can have more room (w/the sportronic gearshifter too), with still a 2 door car. Def a good choice for me.

Glad I did! - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By Casey Nalezny - August 2 - 11:10 pmI dreamed of owning a convertible, but never thought it practical until now. Comfortable leather, awesome features, enough ROOM for all (even my hubby at 64"), a back seat that is REALLY a back seat, and easy to use automatic controls for just about everything. The ride is smooth, almost feels like I am in a video game at times. I am most impressed with how quiet it is with the top up, I dont even realize it is a convertible, unless of course the top is down HA HA! GREAT JOB TOYOTA!

Never Again - 2005 Toyota Camry Solara
By flyer131 - July 12 - 10:00 amWorst choice Ive ever made in a vehicle. Charged full sticker price eventhough I asked what was the dealerships best price as per their "lowest price guaranteed" billboard. Day of delivery took over 2 hours to get the car. Car delivered dirty. I was asked to pay half the cost of the cargo net that was promised by the salesperson. Dealership very unresponsive to my concerns. Steering is very loose. Car seems to float over the road. Tires spin on wet pavement. Drivers seat has NO lower back support. Tilt steering blocks the view of the gauges. 4 cylinders lack power for merging onto highways. Carpet sheds! Worst of all is Toyotas poor customer assistance.
